1 Reservations and payment

Bookings are subject to availability. Payment in full is required at the time of booking to confirm your reservation. We send written confirmation once payment is received. Please check your booking details and let us know if anything is incorrect. The person booking must be at least 18 years of age.

Rates are in South African Rand. The total price, taxes, compulsory charges and included services are shown before you book. Optional extras are listed separately. Payment is by bank transfer or the card payment link provided.

For bookings through an agent or another platform, the payment and cancellation terms shown there apply.

The terms accepted when you book apply to your reservation. Changes to these terms do not affect existing bookings without your agreement or a legal requirement.

2 Reservation amendments

Please email amendment requests to stay@stcroixestate.com. New dates are subject to availability. If you shorten your stay, cancellation charges may apply to the nights removed. We will confirm any revised rate or cancellation charge before you agree.

For bookings through an agent or another platform, please contact that provider.

3 Cancellations

Please email cancellations to stay@stcroixestate.com, or contact the agent or platform through which you booked.

Reservations cancelled more than 30 days prior to arrival are refundable at 70% of the total booking value. Reservations cancelled within 30 days of arrival, no-shows and early departures are non-refundable. Notice is calculated from the date we receive your cancellation to your arrival date, using South African time.

Cancellation charges must be reasonable under the Consumer Protection Act. No charge applies if a guest’s death or hospitalisation prevents the stay, where the Act requires this. Any cooling-off rights required by law remain available.

4 Refunds

Refunds are issued to the original payment method. Guests are responsible for any exchange-rate differences, bank fees or currency-conversion charges applied by their bank.

5 Alternative arrangements

If we cannot provide your stay, we will contact you promptly. We will offer a comparable alternative for your agreement or refund payments for services not provided, together with any other remedy required by law.

6 Arrival and departure

Check-in is from 15:00; check-out is by 11:00. Please arrange other times with us in advance, subject to availability and any agreed charge.

7 Registration and safety

Each adult must sign their own Guest Registration and Indemnity Form before arrival, or on arrival before entering the property. A parent or legal guardian completes the children’s section. The form is available before booking.

St Croix is a working farm. Uneven ground, water, farm equipment and moving vehicles can cause serious injury or death.

Stay in designated guest areas, follow safety directions and supervise children closely, especially near water. Light fires only in the facilities provided and observe fire restrictions.

8 Guest responsibilities

Only registered guests may stay overnight, within the cottage’s confirmed occupancy. Please include children in your booking. Additional guests, day visitors, gatherings and events need prior approval. Pets are welcome on request.

Please respect other guests, our staff and the farm. Keep noise to a considerate level. Smoking and vaping are not permitted inside cottages.

You are responsible for damage you cause, to the extent you are legally liable. We will explain any reasonable repair or replacement charges, excluding fair wear and tear.

We may end a stay for serious misconduct or failure to follow safety directions. Any resulting charges or refunds will be handled fairly and in line with the law.

9 Your rights

These terms are governed by South African law. They do not limit your statutory rights or exclude liability for gross negligence or wilful misconduct.

Please raise any concerns with our team. Your right to approach the relevant authorities or courts remains available.
